About Us

International Society Daughters of Utah Pioneers (ISDUP)

The object of this organization is to perpetuate the names and achievements of the men, women, and children who were pioneers crossing the plains from 1847 to 1869. One of the ways this is done is through local satellite museums. Our museum is part of the ISDUP and we share artifacts, photographs, and histories of those who settled, Franklin County, Idaho and Cache Valley.

Franklin, Idaho Company

Under the umbrella of ISDUP, the Franklin, Idaho Daughters of Utah Pioneers Company consists of eleven camps that meet within Franklin County, Idaho. The Company Board oversees the running of the Pioneer Museum in Preston, along with a Museum Board.

Franklin, Idaho Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum

As soon as the Franklin County Company was established January 15, 1923, people began donating relics. In 1929 when the Company built a replica of Preston’s first school house in Benson Park (with logs from the original school), it was used as a relic hall. In 1950 due to roof and other damage, some artifacts were moved to the Franklin Relic Hall and a storage shed. In 1975 the Daughters were offered a room in the Oneida Stake Academy building if they would fix it up. President Ann Clements, along with her board, worked long and hard to restore the former faculty room to display their items. In 2003 the Academy needed to be moved to a new location and so did the relics. They were again moved to the Courthouse, and the DUP storage shed. February, 2019 Doug and Sandra Webb generously donated the use of a building they own for the Franklin Company to display their pioneer artifacts. Many thanks to the Webbs. The museum will eventually be housed in the Oneida Stake Academy.
